And, we’re off into the journey that will be 2025. A new year filled with hope for peace and hopefully less climate change. The world needs so much love and healing. We can, each of us, do our part by caring and sharing that which has been graciously given - that might just shine a light on someone’s heart. We at the Gallery want you to know our doors are always open for you to come in and witness the beauty of Creativity and what it can do for the soul. There is no pressure, no heated sales pitches. We at Hollis love to meet new faces as well as connect with our much loved patrons. We have new work all the time and it’s our pleasure to share our day with you. One day this past year, an Artist walked through the doors of our Gallery and blew us away with her personality and innovative, unique work. Let’s talk about that…
Gillian Lazanik - A Multi medium Artist extraordinaire: Maybe I am going a bit overboard here, but I believe no one has ever done exactly what this Artist has managed. Her pieces are sensual in that She has created work that is beautiful to look at and also appeals to our sense of smell and touch.
Gillian creates landscapes that are breathtakingly brought to life by her own experimental techniques. Don’t ask the Artist to tell you her secrets, because she will shy away from telling all. I can tell you that she uses a subtle layering of things like tea leaves and preserved herbs, bringing us into the Natural world in all its moods and seasons. Gillian has a strong emphasis on texture. Her style merges chance and intention and she hinted that at times the piece reveals itself through the process as it is happening. Truly Magic I say!
Lazanik has a background in interior design and in architecture. The balance and flow of her work displays a marrying of all her creative energies.
