Good May Afternoon to you my Dear Friends!
It’s here. Spring is upon us!
My lawn is dappled in yummy yellow. Dandelions, their big, buttery, beautiful, brazen faces reach up to feel the warmth of the sun. Wild cherry blossoms are bursting forth and pussy willows have gone to droopy caterpillar type blossoms, and everywhere Nature is hanging out her beauty.
This time of year I always want to change things up on my walls. New Art! Or even repurposing of old pieces that have been sleeping in the attic. But it’s always a challenge changing Art pieces around. Sizes are different, hanging space has to be considered... Large ones on big walls? Small pieces on tiny spaces? Does it have to be that way? It’s said, according to the laws of Picture hanging, hang everything, no matter the size, at 57 inches above floor. Who are these Art Gods that made that rule? I personally don’t always follow that rule. I also break the rules when it comes to what should be hung where. Yes, eye level is nice, but maybe there’s room for personal taste. I say Large or Small. Big wall or small corner … hang it where it makes you happy.
That said, our next event we have planned especially for you, our Dear Patrons, is a show entitled “Big and small”. Kinda fits with what we’re talking about here.
So….If it's a bright new piece of Art you are looking for to liven up that corner in the living room, or a Sensational Statement above your Master bedroom, we have Art for that! Maybe you are listing your home or staging it for resale, or perhaps you just need to treat yourself with a fresh sparkle to accessorize your wardrobe.
We have Jewelry and wearable Art for that! We have it all. Painting, jewelry, fibre work, infused glass and pottery - and everything is fresh and new for summer in our Gallery.
And if that isn’t enough, our own Colleen Underwood will be featured this month with brand new work!
I promise when you walk through our door you will be wowed!
Opening reception is 3:00 till 5:00, Saturday, June 1.
Light refreshments as you view all the fresh new work.
See you at the Gallery
