In spring of 2023 we watched the not-so-distant smoke from the forest fire raging to the west of us. Smelling the early morning smoke, watching the hazy sunsets, and worrying about friends and relatives consumed our lives that week. A much needed wake up call for us. A tragedy to the lives directly affected, including wildlife and flora.
