Cabbage Flower 

I found this remarkable ceramic sculpture by Alexis Dorion when I was looking for something interesting to paint in the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens during “Paint the Town”. I was fascinated by the name, of course, but when I got closer realized how intricate it was, with internal “stamens” and outer “petals” that looked like cabbage leaves, coloured blue and yellow.
