Raku firing involves taking the piece from a hot kiln with tongs and putting it in a reduction chamber containing combustible materials, then sealing it to create a lack of oxygen. This process produces unpredictable lustrous and/or crackle glaze results. This particular piece  exhibits subtle red and black crackle with contrasting earthy greenish gold leaf and naked black stem.  Don’t bite it!
